Exciting for Glorious. However, I don’t think I’ll be buying one. The pricepoint is high, the only real lure here is the optical switches, and my Model D Wireless still suits my needs.
For context: I was a Deathadder V2 Pro user before I had my Model D. Razer lost me as a customer because of their enforced sleepmode on their mice. The Model D Wireless allows to disable the sleep mode, meaning I can take my calls while on standby without having to ‘wake up’ the mouse first. Other than that, I liked the feel of the Model D’s mousewheel and shell.
If I was looking to upgrade my Model D, I would rather go for the kind of upgrades to the shell I’ve seen from the transition between Model O and Model O 2 (I like the new shape iterations for the central front spine, the mousewheel and the buttons). The Model D 2 has yet to exist, so if it can include similar upgrades and (dare I dream) optical switches - that’s what I’d be looking to buy.
Until then, I’m sure my current switches on my Model D Wireless will last me until the next update.
