Finally managed to build this beast!
This picture was taken with the world’s worst camera but I think you can see the result.
I ordered a polycarbonate plate with it, but two of the screws that came with the PC plate broke, and one of the stands on the plate broke too. I definitely didn’t over-tighten them, but the head of the screws just snapped.
Anyway, I contacted Glorious through Amazon and asked if they could replace it with a white aluminum plate so I’m waiting for an answer.
Meanwhile, I’m using the stock aluminum plate and it has zero issues.
Here are the specs:
Gateron G PRO v2 Red switches, with 0.5mm switch foam from KBDfans. I took the time to lube a few of them and, honestly, I didn’t notice a difference so I’m using the stock ones because the pre-lube job is actually good. The housing is also very tight, so there’s no need to film them unless you open these switches.
Durock v2 stabs lubed with Krytox GPL 205 G0 and stab foams from KBDfans.
XDA pudding PBT keycaps from LTC LavaCaps. The legends could be better but those seem to be the only XDA pudding keycaps available on the market so I’m not complaining.
I’m also using some 3.5mm foams under the spacebar, so that’s why it’s a little darker in that area.
Overall, I loved it.
I hate typing on flexible keyboards, so I’m glad the GMMK PRO has zero flex.
The LEDs are really bright, even with the black aluminum plate — and this picture was taken in a very bright room.
I tried recording the sound but my phone’s and headset’s mics are just awful and the video sounds nothing like what I experience IRL. The spacebar, shift, backspace, and enter sound deep, what people would call thocky. All other keys sound a bit poppy, but deeper.
Sorry for the wall of text, I got carried away. lol
