Show off your GMMK PRO Builds

Got my barebones black friday purchase built a few days ago for my home battlestation.

This was the very first time I ever took apart a keyboard. It was a lot of fun learning and I’m very happy with the result!

GMMK Pro White Ice with Aluminum Plate & Gold Rotary Knob with Glorious Arctic White Coiled Cable

Stabs: GSV2 lubed with G-lube
Switches: Glorious Lynx lubed with G-lube
Keycaps: Combo of the Glorious GPBT Arctic White and Olive
Awaiting a Glorious Guild Artisan Keycap to replace the Esc.

Also have some Black Ash GPBT caps on the way I picked up off Ebay that may or may not make their way into the White/Green.
Edit: the camera on my 7th gen iPad is awful…so sorry for the low quality…my dumbphone flip phone would do way worse

Flex Kit with thicker case Gfoam and plate Gfoam, alu plate, TCC Bluish White switches, and the keycaps are PBTfans Kabuki-Cho.

(Whoops, now it has sound!)

Very nice, sounds great and those Keycaps on the light blue case really pop nicely

I got new keycaps and it has been a few months since I updated my GMMK Pro pic in the thread. It is also 6:30am and I have not slept yet. So please also enjoy my Centauri photoshopping :stuck_out_tongue:

Finally managed to build this beast!

This picture was taken with the world’s worst camera but I think you can see the result.

I ordered a polycarbonate plate with it, but two of the screws that came with the PC plate broke, and one of the stands on the plate broke too. I definitely didn’t over-tighten them, but the head of the screws just snapped.

Anyway, I contacted Glorious through Amazon and asked if they could replace it with a white aluminum plate so I’m waiting for an answer.

Meanwhile, I’m using the stock aluminum plate and it has zero issues.

Here are the specs:

Gateron G PRO v2 Red switches, with 0.5mm switch foam from KBDfans. I took the time to lube a few of them and, honestly, I didn’t notice a difference so I’m using the stock ones because the pre-lube job is actually good. The housing is also very tight, so there’s no need to film them unless you open these switches.

Durock v2 stabs lubed with Krytox GPL 205 G0 and stab foams from KBDfans.

XDA pudding PBT keycaps from LTC LavaCaps. The legends could be better but those seem to be the only XDA pudding keycaps available on the market so I’m not complaining.

I’m also using some 3.5mm foams under the spacebar, so that’s why it’s a little darker in that area.

Overall, I loved it.

I hate typing on flexible keyboards, so I’m glad the GMMK PRO has zero flex.

The LEDs are really bright, even with the black aluminum plate — and this picture was taken in a very bright room.

I tried recording the sound but my phone’s and headset’s mics are just awful and the video sounds nothing like what I experience IRL. The spacebar, shift, backspace, and enter sound deep, what people would call thocky. All other keys sound a bit poppy, but deeper.

Sorry for the wall of text, I got carried away. lol

No apologizes needed. That’s a beautiful looking board! Sounds like it got some TLC and came out great!

I have to agree with @LiquidMaverick, the board look beautiful and also that there is no need to apologize, we all love to hear how you got to the finish line and it sounds like you put a lot of time and care into it and that is awesome

Congrats on a great build

I totally know how you feel about phone mics butchering the sound of keyboards! I eventually bought a Rode VideoMicro to connect to my phone and that does an amazing job.

Just wondering, for everyone with custom cables, what orientation are you running. Right exit, left exit or straight exit? Just from flipping thru it looks like most ppls coiled cords exit to the right.

Mine exits to the right, to be fair though my computer is to the right of me as well

This is one of the main reasons I ditched coiled cables. Every keyboard has the port in a different spot and you end up having the coil oddly coming off to the side sometimes and not sitting nicely behind the board.

Yea I’m not sure yet but I might get a straight exit one.

All of mine go to the right but the next one I get I’m definitely getting a straight one

Hmm, mine is to the left and under the desk( I know, don’t start lol). Idk how I’d feel about the cord going off the left side of the desk. So used to having it go down the center and off the back. Maybe I need to do some mock ups so I can picture it properly lol.

Thanks though, food for thought.

Any reason for the change up?

Not really just to change things up a bit. I love how they look just never got around to grabbing one.

@DudeBruh very nice setup!
Do you mind sharing what you’ve done with it when you have some time? We always love hearing about the decisions people make to make their PRO their own.
Welcome to the forums and remain Glorious!

Unless your committed to exactly where your keyboard is located and to just the gmmk pro coiled kinda sucks ngl. I also ditched it and opted for straight just generally a more versatile cable even though it’s less aesthetic
