Changing the function layer

I’ve been meaning to ask this for a long time, but on the GMMK 2 and/or GMMK Pro, how do I change the function layer keys? For example, I’d like to change FN + Up Arrow to volume up rather than the brightness setting it is now. There’s a layering function in Core, but it doesn’t seem to do what I think is traditional considered to be how layers work.

I really like both of my Glorious keyboards, but the inability to change this has prevented me from using them.

You can do it with QMK (after flashing that firmware), but it’s not available in CORE. It’s definitely a frequently requested feature, though.

If I put QMK on it, will it work with VIA? And does it break the RGB?

Yes, it works with VIA, no, it doesn’t break RGB.
