First time with Glorious Lynx switches. The mix of Gateron Blue/Green is my go to for special keys. My GMMK TKL has the same, but with Glorious Pandas on the primary keys. Akko Cherry profile keycaps.
Keyboard: GMMK Pro Mods: Tape mod, StupidFish case & plate foam Plate: AVX Works FR4 plate Switches: Everglide Aqua Kings Stock Stabilizers: Durock V2s Keycaps: PolyCaps Hippo PBT Keycaps Cable: Glorious Nebula Coiled Cable Desk Mat: Drop + Marvel Black Panther desk mat
I’m loving this as my first real custom keyboard. I’ve tried hand lubed Glorious Pandas and now using the Aqua Kings. I have another GMMK pro on the way currently and looking forward to trying some different combinations between the two to compare and find what my overall preference is in switches, plates, keycaps, etc.
I Don’t own one yet.
Disclaimer: just a keyboard with a knob placed on top of keycap.
I bought for the pro when I wanted one. This keyboard does not have a knob.
Thank you. I’m really pleased with the new additions. Kinda makes me wish the led’s were north facing though lol. Glorious, can we get some deeper, side printed, and backlit keycaps?
Not at all, I just made sure to keep the knob a tad in the air when tightening the screw so I could still press it. Other than that, the knob diameter is spot on, doesn’t interfere with the case.
I feel like its a pretty vanilla build, but I really just needed another excuse to type on this keyboard so here I am.
This is my first custom keyboard, I regret not knowing about this sooner. I spent about the same on my last keyboard from Razer and its not even something they can compare to.
I went with the Gateron Reds and installed GSV2 stabs. Holee modded the stabs and lubed the switches. I have no doubt there are better switches etc. but wow this is a whole new experience for typing. Next is a glorious mouse.
Doesn’t matter how basic a build is my friend, as long as you’re happy with the end results. Typing/gaming on a custom board is such a completely different experience, especially if you’ve tuned it to how you like.
The Guild has a lot of people with different degrees of experience and areas of expertise. So don’t hesitate to ask questions if you want some help or suggestions with future projects.
I just convince a buddy of mine to get the Pro. He has some boards in the arena but none quite as hefty. It was great to hear that he is enjoying it. It was even better when it got to work and informed me of his slight disappointment with his work build now having experienced the pro.
As @8-Bit_Bootcamp said, if you like it, it’s right for you. This whole community is based on preference.
